We use collected data solely to operate and improve the website, respond to inquiries, and detect abuse. We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data to third parties.

We use session cookies for security (CSRF protection on forms). Analytics are cookie-free. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

4. Third-Party Services

Cloudflare Turnstile — bot protection on forms. Subject to Cloudflare's Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare CDN — content delivery and DDoS protection. Processes requests passing through their network.

5. Data Retention

Contact form submissions are retained for up to 12 months. Comments are retained until manually deleted or the account is closed. Server logs are purged after 30 days.

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS, content security policies, parameterised database queries, and input validation. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

Data Retention

Tech Site News retains different categories of data for different periods. Server access logs are automatically purged after 30 days. Contact form submissions are kept for up to 12 months to allow us to follow up on enquiries. Comment data is retained for the lifetime of the associated article. Analytics data collected via our self-hosted Umami instance is aggregated and anonymised, with no personally identifiable retention limit. Upon request, we will delete any personal data we hold about you within 30 days.

International Transfers

Our primary infrastructure is hosted within the European Economic Area. We use Cloudflare for content delivery and security; Cloudflare operates globally and processes requests through its distributed network in accordance with Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission. Our self-hosted analytics instance does not transmit data outside our own servers. We do not directly transfer your personal data to organisations outside the EEA without ensuring adequate safeguards are in place.
