Siri has been rebuilt from the ground up for the AI era in iOS 27. A dedicated Siri app is now available, offering direct and easy access to the assistant. According to Apple’s press release, users can open the Siri app to revisit past conversations or start new ones. The app uses i Cloud to privately sync conversation history across all devices. This means a chat started on Mac can continue on i Phone, iPad, Apple Watch, or Apple Vision Pro. The result is a unified and consistent experience.
The Siri app is becoming a go-to reference for any query, especially chatbot-style interactions that go beyond simple requests. With the popularity of apps like ChatGPT, Claude, and Google Gemini, having a preinstalled Siri app on the i Phone’s home screen feels like a logical and thoughtful move. Because it’s available immediately upon unlocking the phone, I believe it will quickly become a core app for many users seeking fast, relevant answers.
Apple has added actionable suggestions in Messages that appear with a single tap, generated based on conversation context. For example, if someone asks about photos, the app may suggest finding relevant images from the library by recognizing keywords, locations, or people involved. These suggestions let users quickly create memories or notes without typing complex commands. While I’m not a fan of chatbots embedded directly in conversations, I find these one-tap suggestions offer similar utility but are much faster and more intuitive. It’s an example of AI that feels like a practical tool, not an invasive technology.
Finally, the Calendar app has gained a feature I’ve long awaited: natural language input for event creation, called „Smart Event Details.” Using Apple Intelligence, users can type an event in their own words—for example, „Meeting with Alex tomorrow at 3:00 PM at the coffee shop near the office”—and the system automatically detects the date, time, location, and participants. It fills in the necessary fields without manual input. There’s no need to fill out each detail separately; everything happens in a single line of text, and AI handles the rest. This functionality significantly reduces the effort and time needed for daily scheduling.
