Apple confirmed that iOS 27 will be available to all i Phone users starting Monday, September 14. The company also revealed that two features previously included in the beta versions will not be part of the initial release. Instead, they will arrive in a future software update. This clarification came after Apple updated its support website to reflect the changes.
The delayed features are inline suggestions in the Messages app and automatic password changes. Apple had showcased both during earlier beta testing phases, leading users to expect them at launch. Now, the company states these tools need additional refinement before public release. No specific timeline was given for when the update will arrive, only that it will come later as part of ongoing software improvements.
Apple explained that the Messages suggestions feature, which offers contextual replies and links based on conversation content, requires further work to ensure accuracy and privacy. Similarly, the automatic password change tool, designed to prompt users to update weak or compromised credentials, needs more testing to integrate smoothly with third-party password managers. The company emphasized that user security and experience remain top priorities, justifying the delay.
Apple assured users that all other announced features in iOS 27 will be available on schedule. These include redesigned widgets, enhanced Focus modes, and improvements to FaceTime and Safari. The company reiterated that the delay applies only to the two specified features and does not indicate broader issues with the operating system’s stability or readiness.
Why did Apple delay the Messages suggestions and automatic password changes? Apple said both features need additional refinement to meet standards for privacy, accuracy, and seamless integration before being released to the public.
When will the delayed features be available? Apple has not provided a specific date but stated they will arrive in a future software update after the initial iOS 27 launch.
Are any other iOS 27 features being postponed? No, Apple confirmed that all other features announced for iOS 27 will be included in the September 14 release.
